Storyline
An ex-cop turned con threatens to jump to his death from a Manhattan hotel rooftop. The nearest New York Police officer immediately responds to a screaming woman and calls dispatch. More Officers arrive with SWAT and tactical command along with fire-fighters. The police then dispatches a female police psychologist personally requested to talk him down from the ledge. However, things aren't as straightforward and clearcut as they appear to be.
Inspired by a man who threatened to launch suicide "blind fire" for his accomplices to steal diamonds, Man on a Ledge was filmed at the famous Roosevelt Hotel in New York City - one of the densely-populated American dwellings. The central character of the film is Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington plays) - an escaped prisoner, a former employee of the New York Police Department. One fine morning, Nick at Roosevelt hotel, walk up one floor and walked out half the ledge with the intention of jumping suicides.
Nick's actions caused a stir both cities, people flock to see every time a large, media coverage also jam to jam. Police in and trying to persuade Nick to leave the protruding ledge.
However, he only accepts negotiations with Mercer Lydia (Elizabeth Banks play) - a struggling police and difficulties after failing in an earlier suicide prevention. When Lydia appeared and tried counseling Nick abandoned the idea of death is found in the building opposite, a robbery of diamonds worth tens of million starting to happen.
